Communication tools for persons with Disabilities

On October 14, 2023, a program centered around “Communication tools for Persons with Disabilities” was organized by REACT. The event aimed to address the unique communication needs of persons with disabilities & provide valuable insights into cutting-edge tools. The core focus of the program was the introduction of various communication devices – Alternative Augmentative Communication Tools designed for people with speech impairments.  Participants had the opportunity to engage with experts fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas & experiences. Demonstrations &  hands-on sessions allowed attendees to gain a deeper understanding of showcased communication devices, encouraging active participation and learning.

Careers in IT - February 2023

An online webinar addressing “Careers in IT Sector” was organized by REACT with a focus on job opportunities for disabled individuals. The event featured insights from Varsha Agarwal, the Director of IT, VMware, who shared valuable ideas for seeking employment in the IT sector. The guidance and strategies are tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities faced by disabled job seekers. The importance of leveraging accessible job platforms and networking opportunities was highlighted in the session.

World Disability Day - 2022

REACT organized a program titled “Building an Inclusive India” at the LAICO auditorium in Madurai. The event aimed to address the challenges faced by disabled individuals & explore strategies to create a more inclusive society. A diverse panel, comprising doctors, psychiatrists, and representatives from NGOs, actively participated in a comprehensive discussion focused on addressing the unique needs of disabled persons. Nearly 50-plus participants attend the program.
